Celebrating Konni’s first 55th birthday (thus for the first time being legally entitled to a senior-citizen ticket) and enjoying three wild and looping roller-coaster rides (MYR 15.- or US$ 4.20 for the half-day package) in the Cosmo’s World indoor theme park at Berjaya Times Square Shopping Mall +601300888988, right in our new neighbourhood and within walking distance from our apartment.

"Sometimes I find I get to thinking of the past.
We swore to each other then that our love would surely last.
You kept right on loving, I went on a fast,
now I am too thin and your love is too vast.
But I know from your eyes
and I know from your smile
that tonight will be fine,
will be fine, will be fine, will be fine
for a while."

Visiting the bustling, ISO 9001-certified Taoist/Buddhist hodgepodge Tean Hou Temple +60322747088 (named after the Heavenly Mother who is in charge of protecting those who make their living from the sea), trying to count the countless numbers of red lanterns which adorned the temple grounds in preparation of the Chinese New Year and enjoying the long views from the temple's upper decks.

Gearing up for a prosperous Lunar New Year and watching the many high-class and exciting shows and performances in the shopping malls in our neighbourhood in preparation for the Chinese New Year of the Ox: (i) acrobatic lion dance and dragon dance, (ii) festive fashion and dance shows, (iii) drum and traditional instrument performances, (iv) arts and crafts exhibitions and (v) the appearance of the Chinese gods of Prosperity, Longevity and Happiness - Gong Xi Fa Cai.

Eight Chinese Proverbs:
"Man who run in front of car get tired."
"Man who drive like hell, bound to get there."
"Man who scratch bottom should not bite fingernails."
"Man who eat many prunes get good run for money."
"Man who fight with wife all day get no piece at night."
"Man who walk through airport turnstile sideways going to Bangcock."
"Man who stand on toilet is high on pot."
"Man who run behind car get exhausted."

Drinking holy water and receiving multiple blessings, for a small donation, from a variety of overweight priests (who feed their vast pantheon of Hindu gods with mostly milk) after we climbed up and down the straight flight of exactly 272 steps, which ascends beside a 43-m tall golden statue of Lord Subramaniam, to the Batu Caves the Hindu community’s principle place of worship, about 15 km north of Kuala Lumpur and famous for the crazy annual Thaipusam Festival.

Taking the Kurnia Bistari express bus (business-class like “snoozer seat”) +60320318307 from Kuala Lumpur’s Puduraya Bus Terminal to Tanah Rata (altitude: 1,450 m above sea level) in the Cameron Highlands (210 km, 4 1/2 hours, MYR 28.- or US$ 7.80 per person).
